The Embassy of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

The Embassy issues entry visas valid for up to six months for persons wishing to visit Ethiopia for different purposes.

Note that all visas remain valid starting from the date of issue, not the date of arrival!

Canadians who cannot secure tourist visa from the Embassy for some reason can get one upon arrival at the airport in Ethiopia.

• Application requirement:

1. Passport or official travel document (valid for at least six months) (Original copy);
2. A duly completed application form;
3. One colored passport-size picture;
4. For business visa, a support letter addressed to the Embassy from the sponsoring organization or company should be attached;
5. A note verbal is required for holders of diplomatic or service passport or laissez passer of   international organizations;
6. A copy of residence permit or student permit for non-Canadian passport holders;
7. For children under the age of 18 yrs, a statement allowing a minor to travel abroad made by a non-traveling parent must be attached;

• Visa Fees

• All U.S Citizens applying for any type of visa are required to pay 70.00 USD. Any visa issued for them remain valid for two years.

• For all travellers: Remember to carry your yellow fever Immunization certificate with you when traveling.
